My kiddos have been after me for months to get them some rain boots and jackets, and even more so after they saw Zak’s photo’s of his kiddos jumpin’ around in puddles on his blog BTW, you should totally check him out — Zak Schwank Photo — he’s the raddest dude photographer I know!

I had a photo shoot on Valentine’s Day, but had to stop off at the store for a few things. I decided to grab Robyn some new jeans while I was out, so I mosied on down to Old Navy. I hit the jackpot — matching rain boots, jackets, and umbrellas…in their favorite colors to boot! 🙂 The perfect V-day gift — they were soooo stoked!

Of course, they put them on that afternoon, but no rain. 🙁 Well, the rain has been hitting us rather hard lately, which means…you guessed it, PUDDLES! I took them out around town looking for the perfect puddle and set them loose! We had a blast — here’s a few shots from their puddle jumpin’ adventure:

Rhylie, my youngest little girl, was standing on a chair next to me while I was doing some photo-editing on the Mac. She was peering out the window at the family of birds perched in our tree. She was so lost in thought, so I figured it was the perfect moment to grab my camera and photograph her — the window light was just right — her face was illuminated, and the light tapered off behind her — it was beautiful. I’d never really used window light intentionally before, but I think the results are great! 🙂 Here are a few of my favorite shots…
