With school over for me…for a week anyhow, we decided to take a trip down to San Diego! We got as far as Oceanside before the little one’s decided they had had enough of the car ride, so we stopped at the Longboarder Cafe for some food — yummy burgers and fries – they had a grilled cheese. We met up with Jay Reilly — really rad dude, by the way. Girls really liked his studio — especially the flowers outside. lol After that, we headed out to the beach — pitch black, but the girls still wanted to play in the sand for a bit. Then it was off to SD — stayed with friends in the area, and managed to pack in two more days of fun —
La Jolla was the first beach we headed out too — that place has the coolest sand for reflections, and the sky is soooo BLUE! 🙂 Totally diggin’ it! Rhy was not too big on the cold water…but she did have a blast playing in the sand. They both caught some pretty nice air too —
Then it was on to Coronado — gorgeous beach! We parked ourselves right in front of the Hotel Del, which made for a nice backdrop! 🙂 The girls had a blast jumping off the rocks and playing near the water and in the sand! After that, we headed walkabout for some seafood — yummo! Girls spotted a puppy along the way, and had to stop of course! 🙂
Our last stop was Old Town Temecula — girls had to show their daddy where this rad dude Zak took our pictures. Mad Madelaines for a burger and fries, the candy store for some fudge, and the soda shop where they got an orange drink in a nifty little bottle shaped like a lion. Next time, we stop for gelato first — they closed for a party as we were walking up! Boo! Then we just hung out by the fountain and let the girls run around for a bit, all the while dreading the return trip home! Ugh!
It was great and I cannot wait until next time — 16 days and counting!!!
Cheers!

We’ve been telling the Byrd since she was little, you have to wait until you turn 5 years old to get a haircut! Well, she turned 5…and has been waiting, ever so patiently. So, we took her to Kelly at the Irwin Street Salon to get her first-ever hair cut! She was soooooo stoked!!! Here are a few shots from the salon:
Then this afternoon was rainy and yucky, so she wanted mommy to do her hair all pretty-like — I busted our the curling iron, and gave her some “Shirley Temple” like locks (and they stayed, w/o hairspray, b/c her hair is naturally curl-crazy)! 🙂 She looks too cute with all those curls!!! Here’s a few shots of her standing by the window, watching the rain:
Cheers!
